VALLEY VIEW AVENUE INTERCHANGE PROJECT – March 19, 2017

The northbound I-5 on-ramp at Freeway Drive is set to close permanently in late March. Portable changeable message signs will be placed in the area two weeks in advance of the closure. Once this ramp closes, motorists will be detoured to proceed west on Alondra Boulevard, then north on Carmenita Road to access the northbound I-5 on-ramp. Heavy traffic and delays in the area are expected. Motorists are urged to use alternative routes whenever possible.  The closure area is shown in red on the map below; the detour route is shown in green.

Freeway Drive under the Valley View bridge has been closed to through traffic and clearing and grubbing operations are ongoing.

The week of March 20 crews will conduct pile driving activities along Valley View Avenue, adjacent to I-5. Please be advised that pile driving work may be loud and disruptive due to equipment noise, vibration and pounding.

Crews will be removing asphalt between Arbor Place and Park Place, weekdays between 7 a.m. and 3:30 p.m.

Multiple utility relocations are ongoing throughout the construction site. There will be intermittent lane reductions on both N. Firestone Boulevard and S. Firestone Boulevard. Work will be performed Monday through Friday.

A portion of S. Firestone Boulevard at Coyote Creek channel is now closed for utility relocation for a period of four to six months. Work will be conducted weekdays between 6 a.m. and 4 p.m. Businesses along Firestone Boulevard will remain open and detour signs will be posted.

Please visit the project Google map for detailed detour information regarding these closures, or view below.

DISCLAIMER: Due to the dynamic nature of construction, please note that all dates and times are subject to change due to unforeseen operational factors or inclement weather.

Also be advised that construction work may be noisy due to construction equipment, truck back-up alarms, and other construction related noise.
