On Thursday, July 11, final concrete was poured on the deck of the center section of the first half of the new Valley View Ave. Bridge. This will be the conrcete surface of the roadway. Photos below of the pour:

View of Valley View Ave. Bridge. Workers built a “mat” (grid) of rebar across the bridge in preparation for a final concrete pour July 11. The deck is now covered with tarps to allow the concrete to cure. Videos from before the pour (July 9) and after (July 16) below:

On the future Firestone Blvd. ramp to the Valley View Ave. Bridge, workers are securing plywood horizontally across the deck to create a base for the next layer of rebar. Video below from July 16:

Workers are now securing plywood to the beams to build the “soffit” (deck underside) for the future Valley View Ave. off ramp from soutbound I-5 that will connect the ramp to the deck of the bridge. Photos below from June 11 & 18 and July 2:
In La Mirada, grading and compacting of the new N. Firestone Blvd. east of I-5 and north of Knott Ave. is underway. Video below from July 16:
Also, the contractor is constructing new lanes of northbound I-5 between Knott Ave. and north of Trojan Way near the new Coyote Creek Bridge. The contractor has poured the final layer of concrete. Film below from during the pour (June 25) and after (July 2):

The contractor is also constructing a new retaining wall for I-5 north of Artesia Blvd. This past week workers have been securing forms to the rebar frame in preparation for a concrete pour. Photos below from June 25, July 2, and July 9:
