Pile driving activity at Imperial Highway has been partially completed. The contractor will now begin pile driving at Pioneer Boulevard. This work will be conducted weekdays, Monday, Oct. 19 through Monday, Oct. 26, between 8:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. Once pile driving is completed at Pioneer, the contractor will move back to Imperial Highway.
Construction of the concrete barrier separating Union Street and the new Southbound Frontage Road is ongoing. Additional finishing activity will be needed on Union Street; more information will be available once the plans for this work is finalized.
On Wednesday night, Oct. 21 crews will erect four girders at the Norwalk Boulevard / San Antonio Drive undercrossing. The girders are being delivered to the work area via southbound I-5. Lanes on southbound I-5 will be reduced, nightly between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m., Wednesday, Oct. 21 and Thursday, Oct. 22.
In addition, while moving the girders into place, Norwalk Boulevard / San Antonio Drive will be closed to through traffic underneath I-5 between Olive Street and Adoree Street, from 9 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 21 to 5 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 22. Changeable message signs and detour signs to notify the public and direct traffic will be placed in the field in advance of this work.
