*Update: The tentatively scheduled overnight closure of I-5 for the night of Thursday, August 23 has been postponed until next week.
*Update: Please note that the Caltrans contractor will be closing San Antonio Dr. /Norwalk Blvd. in both directions between Adoree St. and the Frontage Road from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. each night starting tonight, Tuesday, August 21 and repeating Wednesday, August 22 and the night of Thursday, August 23. The closures will allow removal of bridge falsework. Adoree St. and the Frontage Road will remain open. These closures are scheduled for three separate nights and will re-open each morning.
Beginning Monday, August 20, the contractor plans to run one day crew and one night crew to pour concrete paving for the new lanes on I-5 from south of Norwalk Blvd. to Imperial Highway. This will not involve freeway lane closures.
Construction of the retaining walls along the Norwalk Blvd. on ramp to northbound I-5 continues.
Grading, laying of base for concrete and construction of curb and gutter continues along Imperial Highway at the I-5.
The Norwalk Blvd. off ramp from northbound I-5 is now CLOSED for reconstruction, possibly through late October. Use the new Rosecrans Blvd. off ramp from northbound I-5 as an alternate. For the next few weeks we will continue to pour concrete and pave new lanes for I-5 between the Norwalk Blvd. off ramp and the Imperial Highway off ramp. Photos below from August 7:
As crews work on Imperial Highway, Norwalk Boulevard and Pioneer Boulevard bridges at I-5, one lane in each direction may be closed on each street (at I-5) during the daytime, between 8:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m.
