Florence Interchange – Orr and Day Drive

Florence Avenue Interchange Improvement Project
Orr and Day Road Long-Term Closure
Beginning Week of April 27, 2015

During the week of April 27, crews will begin a year-long closure of Orr and Day Road (from south of Florence Avenue to north of Cecilia Street) and Mondon Avenue (between Lakeland Road and Ringwood Avenue); closure areas are identified on map below in red. These closures are part of the I-5 Florence Avenue Interchange  Improvement Project.

In order to minimize impacts to residents, a temporary traffic signal is being installed at Roseton Avenue and Florence Avenue. The detour route highlighted in green on the map below will direct motorists to use Roseton Avenue to reach Florence Avenue. The team will ensure the temporary traffic signal at Roseton Avenue is scheduled to be operational by Friday, April 24, before the closures on Orr and Day Road and Mondon Avenue begin, the week of April 27. In order to deter cut through traffic on the Florence Avenue frontage road, k-rail barricades will be installed on either side of Roseton Avenue to prohibit this issue.

  1. I live on Lakeland Rd and cars are constantly speeding, is there any way you can install temporary or permanent speed pumps. I fear for the safety of my children.

    Thank You,
    Iran P.

  2. Good morning,

I am not sure where on Lakeland you live, but unless it is an area that is part of one of our designated construction projects, we do cannot install speed bumps. Caltrans is a state agency. The city owns and controls their streets and you would have to contact them with your request.
