To complete this work, crews will close the outside (#2) lane on westbound Florence Avenue from 7 p.m. Monday, Jan. 22 to 5 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 23, in order to restripe the street in preparation of the opening of the intersection at Orr and Day Road by 9 a.m. Tuesday morning. Here are some recent photos of the progress crews have made, building up the intersection of Orr and Day Road to meet the new height of Florence Avenue.

Pile driving activity for the retaining wall adjacent to the northbound I-5 Florence Avenue on-ramp is ongoing and crews will soon begin pile driving along southbound I-5 north of Florence Avenue, for the new Florence Avenue bridge abutments. Please be advised this work may be loud and disruptive due to equipment noise, vibration and pounding related to pile driving activity, and construction lighting (if equipment needs to be moved at nighttime). Pile driving activity will be ongoing for approximately twelve weeks and will take place weekdays between 7 a.m. and 3:30 p.m.

There is a temporary pedestrian route in place along the south side of Florence Avenue. Pedestrians can follow the route outlined in green on the map below. To explore the pedestrian route, click on the map below.
