During the week of May 24, nightly full freeway closures are scheduled (Tuesday night through Thursday night) so crews can remove falsework from the Carmenita Road bridge. Southbound I-5 will be closed (Rosecrans Avenue to Valley View Avenue) nightly between 11:59 p.m. and 5 a.m., Tuesday through Thursday. On May 29, crews are planning to shift lanes of traffic along northbound I-5, onto newly completed pavement in the center of the freeway; this will require a full nighttime closure of the northbound I-5 freeway. In June 2015 (tentative), crews will shift traffic from the existing Carmenita Road bridge to the new bridge which is being built alongside the original structure. The traffic shift will include changes to the traffic pattern at Firestone Boulevard and Carmenita Road. More detailed information will be provided before the work is conducted.
