The I-5 Burbank Boulevard Bridge and Interchange opened for traffic on November 24, 2021. Here are scenes of some of the construction crews and the progress of the project during the weeks leading up to the opening day.
But first, here is a view (facing west on Burbank Boulevard) showing the new bridge and interchange:
The photos below show the progress of the project leading up to the opening.

The photo above is facing east and shows crews installing conduits for electrical cables and other utilities on Burbank Boulevard before pavement is constructed. The concrete pavement at left is the end of the Southbound I-5 Off-Ramp.
The photo above shows a crew placing rebar (reinforcing rods) for a concrete barrier. In the background at left is the batch plant which produces concrete on-site for this project.
The photo above shows the completed rebar (reinforcing rods) in place for a concrete barrier along an on-ramp. The crew in the background is constructing the wood form that will be needed when concrete is poured to form the barrier.
The photo above shows a worker checking the wood form before concrete is poured to construct the barrier along the north side of the bridge (in other words, alongside the westbound lanes of Burbank Boulevard; this view is facing west).
The photo above is facing east on Burbank Boulevard and shows the street as construction is nearly completed. Pavement, concrete barriers, signs, lane striping, lighting, traffic control systems and other elements of the project are in place.
