In April the contractor will perform a traffic shift along the southbound lanes of the I-5 freeway. In order to accommodate the freeway widening, southbound traffic was shifted to the inside of the freeway, allowing crews to perform paving activity behind k-rail along the far outside lanes. In a few weeks, the contractor will be ready to shift the southbound traffic to the new pavement on the outside of the freeway. This work will require nighttime closures on the freeway, as the
contractor restripes the pavement and moves k-rail. Following the southbound traffic shift, the contractor will perform a similar shift along the northbound lanes of the I-5. Additional information, including dates and times of closures, will be
provided once the schedule for this work is set.
